Description

Making solid contact is required If one is going to ever put a baseball in play and force the other team to prevent the batter from running around the bases unimpeded. This book explores the life of a young baseball player coming to grips with the Providence of God and his ability to make solid contact with a pitched baseball. Baseball is a wonderful yet exacting sport that demands a devotion to developing the requisite eye hand coordination to bring bat to ball on a consistent basis. Making Solid Contact is also a metphor for what it takes to overcome larger issues of life and finding purpose in a meaningful relationship with God.

Chris grows up moving from Navy base to Navy base until he finally is recruited by a professional baseball team to play minor league baseball.

Chris’s plans to get to the major leagues is detoured by being drafted and sent to fight in Vietnam in the late 1960’s. On return he seeks the will of God regarding his future in baseball.
