Modern poetry calls for living in the moment, in what I like to term “dingly suchness.” No need for allusions or moving outside the poem itself to grasp its meaning. Just being in the presence of the present. It’s a pleasure experiencing Lewis’s world of poems that reveal the depth of being there.
