Maudlin Pond Press... on Tybee Island
With decades of experience in writing, entertainment and volunteer work in the marine mammal husbandry field, Madison DiLoren was able to combine her passions into a book about a sweet sea turtle at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. “A Surprise For Stubby” is her first children’s book. Her deep passion for marine life has led her down a path of incredible experiences from New York to Florida. She monitored a baby beluga whale, fed rehabbed seals, did public speaking on shark conservation, assisted marine biologists with necropsies and whale watching excursions, and even did fun enrichment exercises with dolphins. Madison made a promise to Winter the dolphin, during Winter’s last few days, that she would turn her sorrow and regrets into productive work by volunteering to care for the beloved dolphin’s friends at the aquarium. Winter passed away on November 11, 2021, and left behind a legacy of hope and inspiration for people all over the world. Madison is currently volunteering with the Sea Turtle Aquatic Biology Department at Clearwater Marine Aquarium where Stubby captured her heart and a spark of storytelling manifested! She is inspired every day in the work she does with her sea turtle team, from sea turtle husbandry to educating the public on the sea turtle residents and other marine life. Madison resides in the Tampa Bay area and continues to be inspired to write other children's books as she continues her passion for marine life. “Live your life with passion and magical things will happen! Most of all, remember that LOVE heals everything.”
